MONTHLY MINUTES
APRIL 14, 2004
Meeting was called to order at 7:05 p.m.
Growing graffiti problem in ETNA area. You may make a note of location and email to Joe Teller at etna_org@hotmail.com . Also call 311.
May 1 is Clean & Green. Groups can get tools by registering with Ald. Smith's office. ETNA looking for someone to help organize a group.
Planting on Ridge it tentatively scheduled for May 15th. Donations to fund the project can be made to ECC. Specify GRIPon donation.
Motion to make a $50 contribution towards this project from ETNA was seconded and approved (11 for/no opposed/no abst.)
Joe T. reported that a letter was sent regarding the Jewel renovation, indicating that ETNA is interested in being involved in planning of the project. A discussion followed regarding streetscape, landscaping and bus stop location.
M Henry's has applied for a café license for six two person tables in front of restaurant. A drawing was passed around. This will be on the agenda for voting next month.
Mike L. reported on Ridge redevelopment meeting. Goals stated were a long term plan for traffic slowing, storefronts and retaining residential character of street.
Mike L led a discussion of Gethsemane status. Mike is gathering more information from Alderman's office.
Owner of Soul Café is requesting a one vehicle "standing-only" space on Hollywood directly in front of the café.
ETNA will send flowers to Ald. Smith with the group's wishes for a speedy recovery.
Motion to approve the minutes was seconded and approved.
