CAPS

CAPS meets on the third Wednesday of every month at the Philadelphia church on Clark Street. ETNA is in the 20th Police District and we are beat 2013. We encourage anyone with concerns about crime to attend CAPS meetings. Direct communication with the police can really get a good response on a whole range of issues. In the past several years we have addressed issues such a problem buildings, graffiti, drug sales, loitering, gang activity among others.

The following article appeared in the ETNA news letter from January 2005.

Public Safety

Many members of ETNA who regularly attend Beat 2013 CAPS meetings have expressed concern that the Beat meeting is now conducted every other month.
Despite holding most meeting on a bi-monthly schedule, the 20th District continues to be have one of the lowest crime rates in the city. The City overall saw a dramatic drop CAPS Beat 2013 in the murder rate in 2004.
Beat 2013’s next CAPS meeting is on January 19th starting at 7:00 pm. The meeting is conducted at the Philadelphia church on Clark Street.
Please bring your public safety concerns to the attention of your beat officers at the CAPS meeting, and continue to call 911 in an emergency.
The Edgewater Community Council is working with other community based organization to implement a cell phone safety program for senior citizens, disabled residents, and domestic violence victims.
