MONTHLY MINUTES
January 9, 2008
The meeting was called to order at 7:08 p.m. There were 17 people in attendance.
The minutes of the December meeting were unanimously approved.
Treasurer's report: $433.40 on hand.
Permit parking for Lakewood Balmoral: Etna will send a letter to LBRC opposing this and all other permit parking. A motion to do this was passed unanimously
ECC Planning and Development committee report:
Gino's North received an incidental liquor licensce.
They will tear down the building on the west side of the street and build a new building. On the east side of Broadway they want to build a new building on the old BP site. They need a variance for this. A motion to oppose was unanimously approved.
Blue cart recycling: We will be getting it later this year. (much later) A new addition to the ETNA website: Recycle
New Business:
Joan Monroe: Rents are going up for apartments. Be wary of alternate gas companies.
Joe Teller: Would like to request that the Alderman be more proactive in regards to the preservation of old buildings.
Mark Ross: Hollywood Pantry has a liquor liscence? Yes they do. They will be carrying high end wine and spirits as attested to by the neon "OLD STYLE" sign hanging in the window.
Snow and Ice removal is your legal responsibility!
Candidate forum will be on 1/31.
Pat Daly update: Due to the state of the economy the former 7-11 site may sit for a while. The Clark Street site has not sold a single unit. But his presentations are so nice....
