MONTHLY MEETING
MINUTES FROM JUNE 11, 2003
The meeting was called to order at 7:13 p.m.
Approval of Reports: A motion to approve the minutes and Treasurer's report was seconded and approved.
Announcement: Everyone is encouraged to attend the CAPS meeting to voice his/her concern over increased gang activity or graffiti in the neighborhood. CAPS meetings are the third Wednesday of every month at the Philadelphia Church on Clark Street. It was suggested that we send a letter to the police commander, Mary Ann Smith's office, and the principals of Senn and Pierce to mention the increased drug/gang activity before and after school hours.
The issue of meters on Edgewater and Victoria was re-opened. Discussion followed. The motion carries 28 For, 13 Against, 3 Abstentions. (official ballot count)
A motion to set up a long term traffic / parking plan was seconded and approved. The motion carries 40 For, 1 Against, and 1 Abstention. (official ballot count)
A motion to send a letter to Alderman Mary Ann Smith's office for their assistance in the pursuance of downzoning was seconded and approved. Motion carries 26 For, 0 Against, 1 Abstention.
New Business: If anyone has noticed rattling in the pipes, etc., it is because the city is exploring the gas line that is under Ridge. Apparently, they found a leak and they are working to correct the situation.
