EDGEWATER TRIANGLE NEIGHBORS ASSOCIATION
MINUTES OF MONTHLY MEETING
WEDNESDAY, MAY 14, 2003
The meeting was called to order at 7:20 pm by Joe Teller.
Approval of Minutes and Treasury Report:
A motion to approve the minutes of the April meeting and the Treasury report was seconded and approved.
Some concerns were raised over the flyer distribution method for meeting notification and content of the flyer. It was expressed that everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend ETNA meetings, and the only qualifications to vote are residency in ETNA, attendance at one (1) prior meeting, and dues paid for current year. ETNA meetings are the second Wednesday of every month except for August, when there is no meeting. So that everyone in attendance at the meeting would be eligible to vote on the most current topic, all voting was postponed until the next ETNA meeting of June 11, 2003. This includes a re-vote on the parking meters on Edgewater and Victoria, and the loading zone proposed for Gethsemane Gardens.
The floor was turned over to Tom Samuels from Alderman Smith's office. He was discussing green space in the area. He said that the emphasis would be placed on pedestrian rights. Due to timing constraints, he did not finish the presentation.
Reann, President of Edgewater Community Council, mentioned that the group is planning on filing property taxes together as a group. For more information, contact ECC at 334-5609.
Other concerns to be addressed at the next meeting include increased gang activity in the neighborhood. People in attendance were also encouraged to go to the CAPS meeting (third Wednesday of every month at Philadelphia Church) to voice those concerns.
Respectfully Submitted,
Dana Ross, Secretary
