MONTHLY MINUTES
November 12, 2008



Meeting is called to order at 7:08. There are 19 people in attendance.

Treasurer's Report: $395.40 on hand with a $60 check outstanding.

Town Hall Meeting: Elected officials patted themselves on the back for getting Obama elected.

Alderman's Z&P Meeting: Homeless shelter is closing and a new one is needed. No decision was reached on what to do. Suggestion to put them in Pasteurs for one year was floated and will be voted on at the next meetin. Roy Steinke advanced a motion to have our delegate vote to approve this location with the understanding that there would be adequate financing and supervision. The shelter would be funded by the Dept. of Health and Human Services and would be operated by a group called REST who operate the current shelter that is closing. The motion carries with 10 ayes, 6 nays and 2 abstentions.

Ridge proposal: The Alderman has a new proposal for Ridge which includes blocking Hollywood and Wayne at Ridge. We have 2 volunteers to serve on her committee.

There is a proposal to install permit parking from 7-9 AM around the old firehouse. Specifics are not known so this is tabled for the next meeting.

Blue Cart Recycling program: Schedule for pickups is on the 48th ward website.

Nominations for officers: Chris Lawrence for Treasurer, Peter Gustafson for President, Sue Morales for Secretary. All are unanimously approved.

Chris Lawrence: Motion to donate $50 to Care for Real for Thanksgiving unanimously approved.
