MONTHLY MINUTES
September 13, 2006


Call to Order

The meeting was called to order at 7:08 p.m. There were 18 people in attendance.

The minutes of the June and July meetings were unanimously approved.

Treasurer's report: $422 on hand.

Chris Lawrence motioned that Mark Ross be reimbursed for expense of Website. Unanimously approved.

Announcements
Hollywood Pantry liquor permit appeal will be on Sept. 19th at the Daily Center. Rosa Hamilton asked about the store on the southeast corner of Bryn Mawr and Broadway and if they will sell package liquor.

Sue Morales announced that Mike Volini has sent a letter looking for election judges for the Nov. 7th election.

Chris Lawerence made an announcement about Lynn Pierce being fired by ECC and also gave an update about the events leading up to the approval of the 5440 N. Sheridan project. He also announced that he will be resigning as ETNA vice president and will be running for alderman. A very heated discussion follows.
Rebecca Rivera made a motion to act more civilly and not interrupt other speakers. Unanimously approved.
Pastor Jim made a motion to table discussion of ECC and 5440 building . Unanimously approved.


Susan Darnall gave an update on Pierce school and the effects of the Edgewater Beautiful committee in sprucing up the grounds. She also gave an update on the "Top 10" uglies list and announced that they are looking for volunteers to divide hostas on Bryn Mawr.

Joan Monroe gave an update on "brickman". Joan went to court this morning and reports he is being psychologically evaluated before his next appearance.

RaeAnn Cerle gave an update about cameras installed at her apartment building on Winthrop. She thinks it has been very effective and would like to expand it. She also reminded folks about the upcoming ECC fundraiser.

Chris Lawrence made a motion to not support the ECC fundraiser until some leadership issues are clarified.
aye -4 nay-8 abstain-4 The motion did not carry.
